1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

In short: We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us.

We collect personal information you provide when you place an order, create an account, contact us, or sign up for marketing communications. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Names
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Mailing and billing addresses
  • Order and payment details (see note on payment processing below)
  • Account usernames and passwords
  • Contact or authentication data

Payment information. Purchases on ebelinc.com are processed through Authorize.Net, our third-party payment processor. Your card number is transmitted directly to Authorize.Net; we do not store your full card number on our own systems.

Sensitive information. We do not process sensitive personal information (such as racial or ethnic origin, health data, or sexual orientation).

Information automatically collected

In short: Some information — such as your IP address and browser/device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit the site.

This includes log and usage data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps), device data (device/browser type, operating system), and approximate location data (typically inferred from IP address). This information helps us operate and secure the Services and understand how they’re used.

Google API. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Information collected from other sources

We may occasionally obtain limited contact or marketing information (such as email addresses) from marketing partners or advertising platforms (e.g., Google, Meta) to help us reach customers with relevant advertising.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

In short: We process your information to provide and improve our Services, fulfill orders, communicate with you, protect our site, and comply with the law.

We may process your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process and fulfill your orders, including sharing necessary details with our payment processor and shippers
  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support
  • Send you marketing and promotional communications, where you’ve opted in (you can opt out at any time — see Section 9)
  • Show you relevant advertising through Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram), including retargeting ads based on your visit to our site
  • Analyze site usage and improve our Services (via Google Analytics)
  • Protect our Services against fraud and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

In short: We process personal information only when we have a valid legal reason to do so — generally your consent, the need to fulfill a contract (your order), or our legitimate business interests.

Ebel Inc primarily serves customers and dealers in the United States. If you are located in the EU, UK, or Canada, we still handle your information consistent with applicable law: we rely on your consent, the necessity of processing to perform a contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate business interests (such as securing our Services and improving them). You may withdraw consent or exercise other applicable rights at any time by contacting hq@ebelinc.com.

4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

In short: We share information only in the specific situations below. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including our payment processor (Authorize.Net), web hosting, email/marketing platform, and analytics/advertising providers (Google, Meta), under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing those services.
  • Business transfers. We may share information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of company assets.
  • Google Maps Platform. Our dealer/store locator uses Google Maps Platform APIs. If you use this feature, your approximate location (based on IP address, or device GPS/Wi-Fi if you grant permission) is shared with Google to show nearby dealers. We do not otherwise track or store your precise location.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required to comply with a law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

5. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

In short: Yes. We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand and improve how visitors use our Services, including for advertising.

Essential cookies keep the site secure and functional (e.g., shopping cart, login).

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and usage. Learn more or opt out at Google’s opt-out page.

Advertising. We use Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel to measure ad performance and show you relevant ads on our site and elsewhere, including retargeting ads based on pages you’ve viewed. You can manage ad preferences through Google Ads Settings and Meta’s ad preferences. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising generally at optout.networkadvertising.org and optout.aboutads.info.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; doing so may affect some site features (like your cart).

6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this notice, or as required by law (e.g., tax and accounting records for completed orders). When no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

We use reasonable organizational and technical safeguards to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18. If we learn we’ve collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. Contact us at hq@ebelinc.com if you believe we have such information.

9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it
  • Access or obtain a copy of your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Opt out of targeted advertising or the sale/sharing of your information (we do not sell your information, but you can still opt out of ad tracking — see Section 5)
  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent

Marketing opt-out. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email, or by contacting hq@ebelinc.com. You may still receive non-marketing, service-related messages (e.g., order confirmations).

EU/UK/Canada residents: you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most browsers include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) signal. Because no uniform standard for recognizing DNT signals has been adopted, we do not currently respond to them. If a standard is adopted, we will update this notice accordingly.

11. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In short: If you live in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you may have the rights described in Section 9 above — including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising.

As of this notice’s last update, states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws in effect include: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

We retain these categories only as long as needed for the purposes in this notice (generally, as long as you have an account or an active order relationship with us, plus any legally required retention period).

We have not sold or shared personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration in the preceding 12 months, and we do not intend to.
